Pyridoxine, better known as vitamin B6, plays a key role in protein metabolism. It aids in muscle building and supports the conversion of glycogen into the energy-providing glucose. The vitamin also often alleviates premenstrual syndrome (PMS). Blood and nerve cells also require vitamin B6. A deficiency in vitamin B6 can manifest itself through, among other things, difficulty concentrating. Vitamin B6 improves signal transmission by neurotransmitters (adrenaline and choline) in the nervous system, stimulates the formation of antibodies, and supports the production of red blood cells.
